Oakland-based Tower of Power hit the scene in the ‘60s with a vivid brass section and a dynamic blend of R&B, soul, funk, and AM pop. Hits like “You’re Still a Young Man” and “What Is Hip?” are legendary and this high-energy group still performs electrifying shows, now at The Venue.  WAR is another iconic group first formed in 1969 and known for hits like “Why Can’t We Be Friends?”.
