TVPokerRoom National Ambassador Tyler Patterson moved past the $4 Million mark in career poker tournament earnings last night by winning his second WSOP bracelet, defeating Matt Wantman heads-up in the $3,000 6-Max for $575,223. Here is video of the final hand and celebration, courtesy of PokerNews.
Patterson is the defending champion in our RunGood Million Dollar Main - winning the event in 2024 ($200,422), and finishing as runner-up to Brett 'God of Thunder" Murray in 2023 in the tournament's inaugural season. He returns to defend his title in our 2025 Million Dollar Main taking place Aug. 1-4.
With many accomplishments throughout his storied 20-year poker career, Patterson won his first WSOP bracelet in 2014, taking down a 991-entry field in a $1,500 PLO 8 for $270,992, defeating Scott Clements heads-up. Patterson's 'breakout,' event took place 18 months earlier, when he finished 3rd in the 2012 WPT Borgata Championship ($298,950).
Less than a year after winning his first bracelet, Patterson added his name to the Mike Sexton Champions Cup by winning the 2015 WPT Best Bet JacksonVille Bounty Scramble for a then-best $375,270 cash. He nearly went back-to-back in that event, finishing 4th at WPT Best Bet Jacksonville in 2016.
Patterson appeared set for a big 2020 in poker, finishing 10th in our WPT Rolling Thunder Championship, then 4th at the Bay 101 Shooting Star in San Jose in what turned out to be the very last poker tournament held in the US before the pandemic shutdown took place.
Post-pandemic, Patterson returned to TVPokerRoom, winning his first live WSOP Circuit Ring in a $600 Omaha 8. The Voices of the WSOP, Lon McEachern and Norman Chad, were on hand to present Patterson his circuit ring during a ceremony that week at Thunder Valley, honoring the 20-year anniversary for McEachern and Chad's poker broadcasting careers.
Patterson is always a fun and engaging presence during a tournament and throughout each series at TVPokerRoom. His WSOP bracelet win Tuesday night took place with dozens of friends gathered on his rail, cheering him on and joining in the postgame celebration. Please come out and join us during our July 14 - Aug. 4 RunGood Final Orbit series and congratulate our National Ambassador on his latest major win - and try to be the one to keep him from repeating as Million Dollar Main champion!
