Eric Yilmaz Wins WPT Rolling Thunder

Eric Yilmaz defeats Jim Collopy heads-up to claim the 2019 WPT Rolling Thunder championship. Yilmaz had just doubled through Collopy A7 > JJ to leave Collopy with 3 BB, with Collopy moving in the next hand and Yilmaz calls dark.

Yilmaz shows Ace-King, yes, Ace-King dark
Yilmaz Collopy shows Queen-Jack.

There's a Jack on the flop, but Barry Greenstein shows up (Ace On The River) and Collopy is eliminated in second place, cashing for $200,780

Yilmaz earns $303,920 for the victory. This is his second WPT win this season, as he won at Borgata in September for a $575k score.

Heads-up play ran more than 50 hands across nearly four levels, Yilmaz doubling up twice and Collopy doing the same in the final 30-45 minutes of play in the largest buy-in tournament TVPokerRoom has ever hosted.
  • Jerry Richardson was the first player eliminated from the final table, finishing 6th for a $50,720 cash.
  • Anthony Zinno - the short-stack to start Tuesday's play - ended up 5th with a $68,860 payday.
  • Dylan Linde - aiming along with Yilmaz for his second WPT title this season - took 4th for $95,530.
  • Ajay Chabra finishes 3rd, taking home $130,345.
Here's the final results
